We had a great meeting on Saturday, with a lot of members coming … enticed out by the opportunity to buy lovely and inexpensive wool. David Pray — who is a rug hooker — realized he had enough wool that he just was never going to use, and he sold it to us for $5/yard. Amazing price, these days! What fun picking through the 17 bags worth of wool. (Now how do I sneak the fabric into my house?)
We had two cancellations for the braid in, and the two slots were snapped up by guild members, so that worked out perfectly.
There was some discussion about food at the braid in, and we decided that one lunch would be a “make your own sandwich/wrap” with accompanying soup.

Deb Weinhold was able to join us again after being away for several meetings to teach a class of beginner rug braiders at Goggleworks in Reading.
We had a new member (Cheryl) join us, and saw a few old friends (David Pray, Daria, and Lisa).

Remember that everyone is invited to join us at the Braid in on Friday night for Show and Tell and the Challenge “rugs,” which are “Wearable Braids.” (Get working on your wearable braids!!)
Next guild meeting is after the braid in: May 18, 2019. After that, the next meeting isn’t until September 14. We do have a visit to The Wool Studio planned for May 31, 2019, at 10:30 am, at 328 Tulpehocken Ave, Reading, PA 19611.
